Naturally Ways to Remove a San Bernardino Opossums from Your Home

1-Garlic, Mothballs, and Ammonia. - Strong smells are not liked by the animal. Some people say using grinned up Garlic placed in small containers helps also. Others say mothballs help. I am inclined to believe ammonia and mothballs are great, they both have a very strong unpleasant smell.
2- Installing sprinklers and lights that are motion-activated. The lights work for the younger San Bernardino possums, however, the adults are scared away with the use of sprinklers.
3-Cat and dog hair. If a possum can smell the cat or dog hair it might think it’s in danger and run away. After grooming your pet place the fur thru out the yard. The only note to keep in mind is, your pet might be bitten by the possum. Please keep your animal safe at all times.
4-Predator Urine. the urine of a fox, coyote or wolf can help scare away a possum. All three urines can be bought online. Also Shake Away is a great predator urine brand. Some types of plant repellents can also help. A good Repellent to use is called Critter Ridder.
5- Get rid of food. Believe it or not the garbage, vegetable garden, pet food and more is feed for a possum. Any type of food you could think of can be a food source. You have to remove any open containers like trash cans, don’t over feed the birds, and try not to plant any plant that bares fruit.
6-Remove hiding places. Keeping a yard free of over grown grass and other items is best. You don’t want or need any hiding places for the animal.
7-Trips. There are some trapes that allow for holding the animal. This can of trap does not kill the animal. You can take the San Bernardino possum down to a dirt road and release it into the wild.
8-Trim Trees. Keeping the trees trimmed gives no space for the possum to hang or hide.
